weekend doesn't look good for Galway Markets,heavy flooding and dangerous driving conditions forecast.the minister for Tanks and Tractors may need to bale out farmers in flood prone areas of country if this continues.

Noah's Arc may be required, does anyone know its Eircode location ,

27* isn't all that warm Mehaffey. Can go over 40* here in high summer. Can be stressful on man and beast.

I know it's nothing compared to the height of summer but just keeping it in mind for when it kicks in. I would much prefer to do a bit of work after pm milking instead of the mad rush in the middle of the day.

Forgot to mention it's not the heat I'm thinking about it's that damn sneaky burning sun. Got sun burnt last year in 20minutes bringing in the cows and was do-lally for the day

It's on its way if we don't get rain that's for sure. Grass is sprinting for seed head early at about 1000kgDM/ha available, especially those paddocks that got nailed hard last year mid summer. Warm winds in the morning, wearing t shirts at 4.30am so it's definitely on the cards. Pre mowing and topping all underway so not much more we can do but wait and see/pray.

wind just getting up above 50kmh, last of yesterday's deluge now disappearing down the hill taking any bits of the driveway it missed yesterday with it.

Cows playing fooz ball with bits of roofing, catching them as they fly off the sheds.

Trailers, jeeps & pallets sliding into a huddle in the corner of the clamp to keep each other warm.

Average summer day really.

The wind blew up around lunchtime here in Longford and the rain started at 4ish. It is pouring out of the heavens now and the wind is blowing strong.

It just seems very windy but maybe it's exaggerated a bit with us as we live on a hill beside a lake. The lake is very high though, the diving pier is half covered and it's normally not covered at all this time of year.
Lot of flooding round Carrick too, Gings pub looks in danger of flooding if the Shannon gets much higher.

The danger is they will dilute the value of storm warnings, because people won't take any notice. I think it is a phenomenon known as 'crying wolf' too often.

Lots of flooding round here too (Roscommon Mayo boarder) it's far from "normal" weather. The problem with the warnings is the weather varies too much across the country so when people aren't affected the warnings seem extreme. This time for us the warnings rung true while last week the warnings weren't applicable to us as it was the east that got the battering while it was just bad weather here in the west.

We were up to our waists in water this morning saving 4 heifers that were at risk of getting stranded that surely warrants an orange or red weather warning status.

River in Cave town getting VERY near the top of the cut.
To add to the drama, on the approach road, a young one in a Civic tried to drive under a small lorry heavily loaded with Christmas trees. Only stopped when the nose of the car met the back axle of the truck. Chaos, and a very wet Garda doing point duty.

Was listening to BBC radio two in the car there now, parts of Yorkshire forecast to get 8 inches of rain between tomorrow and Monday !

spoke to man living near Kerry Limerick border at 6 Fri evening and storm was main worry for him, calm in Cork city at time, back here in W Cork it was windy but not bad, down pour during night ,

brought in some cows , ground getting mucky but they werent too much of of hurry coming in either, calm now.

Dry here in Clonakilty. Bandon town centre is closed off. Passed through at 7.30 but floods were coming up through drains. Fire brigade out. Passing through on my return at 10.00 a good share of the main street under water. Road from Bandon to Innishannon closed. Probably going to get worse. The town never fully recovered from the 09 flooding.
