Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Eldest son has just what's app'ed me (if that's the terminology) to say that it's pissing out of the heavens in Melbourne. He just outta bed and heading to work
I think I may have ticked a nerve when I told him earlier that we were having barbecue type weather.

Didn't quite go as far as having a Barbecue, but managed to ressurrect the deck chairs from the garage and place them on back lawn. Then after getting the young lad to bed I proceeded to have a couple of cold bottles of beer... mamas milk!

Looks like were going to be getting showers here in wexford for the next few days and then the weather is going to pick up.

Longer term it looks like anyone that makes silage in may is going to have good weather and then the weather breaks down again in the last few days of may and into june.

It was the first really warm even hot day here today.:)

Good luck to anyone who has enough growth to make silage in May.
Contractor cut and spread the banks on Wednesday and they would normally be cut around Paddy's Day or early April.

Yea, one of the lads in work measures grass growth and compared to last year he says its 3-4 weeks behind in growth.

Warm hazy with little sun so far today. Warm though.
We had a couple of passing thunderstorms yesterday evening with a couple of short bursts of torrential rain.
Every place looks greener today though.

Nevertheless there are people after cutting and pitting silage already. Italian ryegrass alright but the hybrids will be coming on now and the perennials in the last week of May. There's massive growth atm.
Might even be able to cut some paddocks myself in 10 days time.

About 2 hrs of on and off thunder here from about 7 and some very heavy rain
There was one fierce fork with an instant shot gun blast crack of thunder that sent the cows berserk
There was a bucket of water in some of the rain drops
