    According to Aertel Departures the 11:40 to LGW is still scheduled. Best of luck!

    Just saw that it was cancelled. Hard luck. Enjoy a weekend in Dublin...

    Hey Guys and Gals,

    Wow. Just overwhelmed by the amount of feedback I came back to discover on this thread. So good of all of ye to provide so much information.

    Anyway, got back last night. The flight to Gatwick was cancelled on Saturday but went down to the Ryanair desk immediately and they put us on the Stansted flight which was leaving around the same time.

    So got to London ok but coming back was a wee bit more stressful...Flight back to Dublin on Monday evening was first delayed, then cancelled. Ryanair told us that we'd have to go on their website and look to change our flights. We legged it upstairs to the internte cafe and went about rearranging our flights but every flight to Dublin was booked out on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and most of Christmas Eve.

    So then, long story short...booked sail and rail for next day from London Euston. Itinerary was to be:

    Depart London Euston 12pm
    Arrive Chester 2.10pm
    Change train for Holyhead 2.25pm
    Arrive Holyhead 4.20pm
    Depart Holyhead on Ferry 5.15pm

    Stayed in hotel in London Monday night, went on train from Euston to Chester, but then the train from Chester to Holyhead was....CANCELLED too!

    => taxi from Chester to Holyhead (c.2hours) = £150

    But, we shared with 4 others and made the ferry in plenty of time.

    In summary, thanks for all the weather information near the airport on Friday night. My girlfriend enjoyed the weekend immensely, and we got to see John Digweed in Fabric nightclub so twas brillliant all round.

    Also, have to say that despite the stress of flight and train cancellations, every Irish person we met was relatively calm and remained in good spirits.

    That's about it. Thanks again folks.
