Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Magpies Teasing Bird of Prey

Saw three magpies harassing a large bird of prey this morning. They flew after it and when it landed on a tree they flew around it and teased it, until it flew off again and they chased after it. It was early morning and the light wasn't great so I couldn't identify the bird of prey. But it would have been slightly larger than a crow. Just wondering whether anyone has ever seen this behavior before? I've seen magpies teasing dogs and cats before but never a bird of prey. I guess they may have been trying to force it away to protect their young...

Had at least 17 magpies (and other crows) taunting an Osprey last year

Quite often see buzzards being harrassed by crows and forcing them to leave an area. So its not uncommon.

Thanks for the replies. Good to hear it's fairly common. I'll be on the look out for it again. It was an amazing sight to see this avian turf war ;)
