Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Basically my iginition is freezing over so I cannot turn the key without putting hot water over it. Then on my way in it freezes again to the point I cannot get the key out again without putting hot water over it again. Anyone else having this problem?

What about spraying the key with something like WD-40?

As it says above, moisture is freezing in the lock. You need to get the water out. I'd wd40 it and maybe cover over the lock with something overnight. Bit of electrical tape or something.

Going to get some WD40 - in work now put some de icer there as well. Guess I will only going between work and home so can unfreeze at either end but when I stopped to fill up on the way in - I had to leave the key in the ignition as I could not get it out.

By using water you're just stuck in a loop. There's moisture in your ignition which is freezing, in order to thaw it out you're pouring more moisture into the system and it freezes again as soon as you get going.

You can buy something like this which will melt the lock or go to a motor factors and they'll have an alcohol based spray to melt it.

When you get home you'll need to dry out the ignition area with a hair dryer/heat gun if possible and then spray with WD-40 to remove all the water. Then keep it covered at all times as has been said and stop using water to thaw it out:D

Yes I realise that - now I am wondering whether to leave the bike here in work or not. Been a good bit of snow - anyone know what the main roads are like now will not be going till 6pm- would I be mad to try and go home on main roads this evening on the bike?
