Battlefield 2 Sounds and Text

I just re-installed BF2 after a few years and theres some things that are really annoying, they are stopping me from playing it. 1) The radio chatter - Can i turn this off in any way ? 2) Giant low res text on the left side of the screen - Wtf ? Can i fix these things, i searched on google but theres not too much.
