Connecting To XBL Wirelessly With Eircom NGB

But the main issue is my connection doesn't support XBL properly. Each time I log in, it disconnects after 10 minutes or so, which makes playing games almost impossible. I phoned Eircom but their only advise was put the firewall on low, which I had already tried. I have to connect wirelessly as the router is downstairs. I never had this issue with my chorus connection, XBL worked fine from day 1. Any suggestions ?
