The rag doll destroyed my heart in Dead Space 1. Every time you would run by a dead body it would give me fright when the ragdoll physics kicked in. So frightening.

ha me too, youd walk through a pile of bodies and then you'd hear something moving and squelching, wasnt until you looked down and saw the remains of a necro tangled in Isaac's feet being bumped around by the physics engine.

Its cool how Dead Space became a massive game out of one unhyped original, it arrived with barely any fanfare, just another survival horror, and it blew RE5 away. Now its the current king of survival horror games. I love how they've expanded the universe beyond the game too. Wonder would a movie be on the cards, although knowing hollywood itd be a pg13 Dead Space, ie, sh1te.

    http://www.telegraph.co.uk/technology/video-games/8264378/Dead-Space-2-Jason-Graves-interview.html

I tested my pair of Sennheisers with DS1, awesome sound design, some of the best of this generation.

Dead Space definitely had some of the best sound design ever. I'd have loved to have heard it in surround.

the wisper from behind and the falling over metal bars really freaked me out. Kept on making me turn my head to see what fell behind me. Top quality sound, and I hope the new one is no different.

Well x360a gave it 100 for sound, so I'd be expecting the same great sound design again!

And a new lullaby no doubt!!

I doubt you'll see it by the end of next week. Here's hoping that they deliver it earlier than that for you.

AV nuts talk about their go-to disc to show off their home cinema system... Dead Space is a revelation in 5.1 and it adds so so much to the game!

I was trapped at the front, I made the mistake of going in > bar > table and by then everyone had claimed their seats, so I couldn't avoid him. I think I'll accept being mentally undressed for pizza though. (A porn career beckons)

us peoples in first few rows got like ALL the pizza. some table got like 10 pizzas, think they were reviewers or sth rollseyeyes

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,345 ✭✭✭landsleaving

I was sitting right beside them, staring at all their pizza so much the PR woman hovering about said 'don't worry, there's more coming'.

Bloody reviewers, getting all the pizza. I should have worn one of these:

I have Dead Space 2 on order from Play.com so hopefully they won't shaft me with a late delivery ;) I picked up DS1 in Xtravision for €9.99 back in late 2009 and I have to say that it was a total bargain! Excellent game!

Btw I was at the game launch at The Sugar Club too, I was with my gf and we were very entertained at the massive fat guy literally creaming himself everytime fresh pizza arrived :p I seen him approaching us with his empty pizza plate so I grabbed the last two slices of the half eaten pizza, that was just passed to us, and closed the empty box as soon as he arrived! Hungry basta*d

Btw does anyone know where the photos from this event are being published? There was an attractive looking couple a few rows down from us that were constantly being photographed and video-taped, at one point they were handed a pizza slice each and told to eat them on camera with the Domino's sign showing. My gf turned to me and said that could have been us if you had bothered to shave :p lol

Just got this from EA Store on PC.

Played about hour of it. Pretty good so far. More of the same really but its got a very memorable opening scene that had me thinking back to "you have got to be ****ing kidding!" scene in The Thing.

Mouse controls are perfectly fine this time around (v-sync on). Nice and responsive when aiming this time, although turning Isac around while running is like trying to get the titanic to avoid the iceberg.

Playing on Zealot the hardest difficulty level available on your first play through. Enemies seem to be able kill you very fast like 1 or 2 hits, but with a functioning aiming system via the mouse it hasn't been too challenging yet outside of the first boss battle which took me like half a dozen attempts.

Graphics about the same, sound effects still very good. Quickly adapting to Issac speaking. Plot seems okay so far. Nothing too much revealed so far.

If you liked DS 1 then you will like this. If you didn't like DS1 nothing here to convince you otherwise.

Playing on Survival and still died quite a few times, I thought i was doing really well with all the ammo i had for it to all go on a boss battle which was quite tough. expect to die a lot in this one, even retracing steps spawns new necro's so the path you just cleared they can still jump out, don't remember that in the first one.
Good so far, the damn kids used up all my ammo too, need to invest in assault rifle me thinks.
