I am looking for a book that inspires!

Maybe an autobiography.....not a rags to riches tale but for example one of someone who struggled but in the end worked hard and was rewarded for it.

Any thoughts would be really appreciated.

    Enjoy the holidays. :)

Have you read Shantaram?! Most unbelievable book ever (but widely considered to be a true book, although the author is secretive/humble and will not verify this). Also another good one - Half of a Yellow Sun. Amazing books, hope you enjoy them!

I take it you mean true stories only?
If so, then I would recommend Wild Swans by Jung Chang. It's very inspiring!

For factual reading, almost all of which is a startling eye-opener . . . .try the 'Strangest Books' series at www.strangestbooks.co.uk

    Highly recommended

Yes, an excellent book. I read it in a day, could not put it down.

I found "One day in the life of Ivan Denisovich" by Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn
    very inspiring as well.

It is a short book about a typical day in the life of a prisoner in a Soviet-era
prison, called a gulag. It is based on the authors own personal experiences.

Endurance book about incredible Ernest Shackelton adventure.
    Or
Big Bang by Singh the story of how the Big Bang theory was developed.

Both great books and great stories about great people.
