Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    I am Windows Vista x64.

I want to send someone a file.

I have the following info from him.....

    FTP Server: 8*.***.***.**
    FTP Login Name: f******.transit
    FTP Password: b*******

    So, what do I do?

    Please speak slowly!

    Thanks.

    D.

If you want to send him a file, then what you are going to do is to upload the file to his server. This is why he sent you the FTP details.

I'd suggest you download a FTP program. You could download FileZilla (free and open source) from http://filezilla-project.org/ to actually do the uploading for you.

When you have the program downloaded and installed, you can open it up and enter the FTP login details that you were given. The program will split its display/window into 'local' (the files on your computer) and 'remote' (the files on his computer). So what you will be doing is copying a file from your computer (local) to the remote computer.

Just make sure that it's the Filezilla client program that you download and not the server ;)

Filezilla is great if you're going to be doing this often enough, but the linked example for vista and windows explorer is easy for a one time thing.
