Chimney Cleaning Log

    Saw these in a DIY store you burn them in a stove and they clean the chimney and prevent chimney fires but are they any good,

    They'll work quite similar to the chimney cleaning powder that you can buy and quite similar to the traditional method of burning Copper Sulphate. It will helf the soot in your chimney to soften and perhaps even cause some of it to fall down into the cleaning area. Now this could be an even greater fire hazard so I would advise that if you are going to burn a chimney cleaning log then you should be sweeping it the next day too. My own personal opinion on it is that the best way to prevent a chimney fire is to sweep the chimney at least twice a year.

    its only around 30 euros to get a sweep to do it right.
