ok doesnt make sense went into store today to get new desire hd and an 18 month contract, im on a rolling contract but was going to cancel that ,waiting over twenty minutes first off will rep goes over the paperwork and the phone process to be told id have to pay a deposit of €200 , no way says me, went online got it for €10 euro cheaper took 5 minutes, no deposit and phone is on its way .
is it just me or is there some silly redtape or something going on when u go into store ?

maybe the fact that it's posted out to your home address provides more address verification for them coupled with the fact that they have a credit card registered to you.

maybe you filled a box in differently or something too, sometimes these systems seem to be random!

or just the fact that it is always a bit cheaper when you order on line because you do all the work and not staff.

Have you the tracking number for the courier who has the phone on their van?
It's the same credit check so you may be getting an email notification later.

The odds that you'll get asked for a deposit or refused are a lot higher online.

Are the details you gave instore the exact same as the ones online?
