Ahoy, just moved into a new house and one of the other lads has a 360 too so we were thinking of doing a wi-fi LAN game.
I was wondering how do we go about this, and would it be easier to just do a private online party match, bearing in mind our internet connection is pretty terrible (Wi-Max, ahem)

    Cheers all! :)

First confirm that you are both signed into Xbox Live, you won't be using Live but it's a handy way to confirm that the network settings on both consoles are correct and that you are both connected to the LAN.

After that, it's just a case of launching whatever game you want to play and going into the multiplayer lobby. The terminology and setup might vary slightly from game to game but in there, there should be options for Xbox Live and Local Multiplayer, or maybe System Link, depending on the game. Select this, create a game, get the other XBox to connect to that game and away you go!

Thanks for the info, but what is an ad-hoc system link and why is it better?
