Areas prone to Flooding in Carlow need to be aware of risk.
    Weather Warning 23-12-10 10pm

This very Cold spell of weather is expected to last until Sunday. The breakdown is been forecast many different ways by all the weather models. Ranging from little thaw and major Snow event to complete wash out with rain and high temps. Please stay up to date with Weather Forecasts this weekend as this has the potential to cause serious issues including Flooding.

The most obvious scenario at the moment in my opinion is for heavy Snow on Sunday Night before turning to sleet then Rain, followed by higher temps on Monday with a serious risk of Flooding, areas prone to Floding need to be prepared. This forecast will change as we move closer to Sunday please keep updated. There is also some signals at the moment that the thaw made be short lived with cooler weather returning.

I will try to update this as much as possible over the coming days.

Mods I hope you don't mind the seperate thread but just didn't want it to get lost in the larger one.

    Just updated Warning on http://www.carlowweather.com/wxwarning.php
    Weather Warning 24-12-10 6pm

Latest weather models show the breakdown starting about midday on Sunday with rain arriving in Carlow from about 2pm or 3pm. Temps won't rise very quickly but will reach 5c by Monday, Heavy rain is forecast for Sunday evening but may start as snow especially on hills.

The risk of Flooding remains as we could see 35mm of rain with hard ground and lots of snow on mountains, areas prone to Floding need to be prepared from Sunday night. This forecast will change as we move closer to Sunday please keep updated. There is also some signals at the moment that the thaw made be short lived and no major rise in temps will arrive now with cooler weather returning before the year ends
