Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Freshly frozen suffocated salmon, contact Channel 4, could be the making of a new whacky trend?

Those fish farmers should be put in their plaice.

I was whiting for a tragedy like this to occur.

This could cost a lot of money, I heard to the tuna 1 million euro.

Manager Martin McAleese said: "Every morning we are smashing ice and unless you keep the water running in the tanks overnight, they'll run out of oxygen. The fish suffocate."

I wonder what they're using to break the ice

Maybe a fishy chat up line, you're like a prize winning fish, I don't know whether to eat you or mount you

You'd be like a reverse Cú Chulainn and by eating it you'd become a retard.

When one salmon dies, it's a tragedy; when thousands of salmon die, it's a statistic.

"These fish are vital, not only for angling, but for the research which has been going on for almost 40 years. If they don't survive, then that's a big gap in the research."

How long does it take to grow more fish?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,597 ✭✭✭anniehoo

I call "lies" on that story. Fish can survive for ages under frozen water and if it was a research project then the scientist deserves to have it happen if they werent monitoring the water in this weather.

It'll take a while in this weather, as they'll have to wait until the ground thaws to plant the seeds.

er... more along the lines of how farmers "grow" livestock in general... but sure... yeah... I see where yer going with that...

I would always have referred to farmers as breeding livestock and growing vegetation.
