what time do the pubs close tonight?

I was thinking of heading in for a few pints with friends but i hear they shutting up at 8, is that about right? Sorry if this was asked already.

Most city centre pubs close around 8 but suburban ones open till 11. Houses have to be cleared by 12 to allow staff home for Xmas.
