    After this many games last year

    Villa were in fourth with 35 points
    Spurs were 3 points better off had conceded just one goal less and scored 12 more
    City are just one goal better off
    Manchester United again just one goal better off
    Chelsea were 6 points and 8 goals better off
    Bolton were in 17th with 16 points
    Arsenal were 3 points and 9 goals better off
    and Liverpool were 5 points better off had a +11 goal difference
