    Any help on the following?

    48a C--K
    56a D-N--
    57a E--I-
    88a R--H---
    55d T-N-A
    61d LE-N-R
    66d -LL-T--

Also can anyone explain 6 down?
I reckon it must be TRALEE as I have T-AL-E but I don't really get the clue, apart from football being fairly strong in Tralee?
6dn is TWELVE - benchmark on footballer's shirt is number 12
66dn is ALLSTARS- Best of the lot in the night sky!!
    88ac + 56ac is RICHARD DUNNE
    57ac EDWIN - Ed Moses

61 down in Leonard, as in Sugar Ray Leonard, the boxer.

55 down is Tibia, as in bone, and anagram of "i bit a"

If you have an N in place of the B, 62 across may be wrong.

Didnt actually have 62 wrong but was just looking at it wrong.

    48A is Cork
    56/88A is Richard Dunne

I'm from Kerry so hard to think of Cork as champions;)

I knew it was Richard D something - Major Doh!

should have got Allstars - was looking for one word (I know all stars is sorta one word but it's made up of two)

    Thanks all

    20 across
    21 down
    79 across ursa- but why?
    86 across rapier - why?

    Then done.
    Many thanks

    20a Getafe
    21d aalborg

20 ac = Getafe (GET A FEE) and the football club

    21 down = aalborg

79 is Ursa, because ursa major is a star constellation and also ursa major is a winning horse!

86 (is a poor clue) rapier because it's a sword held in the right hand, thus an opponent stays to your right? blunt = vs sharp blade. Not sure if there's an alternative answer, but its definately the best of all options.

    I'm stuck on these:

    107 ac
    111 ac yard? confirm?
    96 ac
44 ac guessing omega, but not sure why?
81 ac possibly harris? again not sure why.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4 rikwal

107 ac fourth - only 1st,2nd and 3rd get to the winners podium
111 ac york -dante the name of a race
    96acr epsom-epsom salts
    44acr - anagram o+game =omega,last letter of Greek alphabet
81acr -hearts -team in Scotish Premier League -beating hearts

Hated the Aalborg question because the football club isn't actually known as Aalborg. Silly question.

That's me done, chuffed that I got nearly all but 5/6 from Boards.

Best of luck to everyone who submits.

Porto - Decant, port, had a European win a few years ago

Des - Dessie Ferguson won AI's with the Dubs before emigrating to Meath where he watched his son Terry score that memorable 1991 goal against his native Dubs

    Dahlia is right.

Lucerne is 75, as in Luc added to lough erne. And Lucerne in switzerland where the world rowing championships were held.

Double check your 85 across if you have an O there.
