Recipe for sponge cake

    Wondering would anybody have a recipe for a sponge cake that will fit a 12'' by 12" square cake tin! Can't seem to find one any where

    This discussion suggests....
    A 12" needs 1lb 12oz flour, 1lb 10oz butter, 1lb 10oz sugar & 13 eggs.

    According to Delia, square tins hold approximately 25% more than a round of the same size.

    So after a few trial and errors, this is the one that finally worked out for me, 700g self raising flour, 500g sugar, 500g butter and 10 eggs.

    I know there is a lot of eggs in it alrite, not sure what it would be like with less eggs,
