Only got noticed about this now through a neighbour and on checking the council website, there will be phased Shut Offs of Water in the county including Tramore

    Date: 27 Dec 2010
Owing to frost damage interruption to water supplies is unavoidable and restrictions are operating in a number of areas. Extremely high demand is adversely affecting reservoir levels and in order to minimise disruption overnight cut-offs will operate in some areas. The following supplies have been affected:

    East Waterford Water Supply

With effect from 2.00p.m. on Monday, 27th December, 2010 phased shut offs will affect the following areas, while leak detection work is ongoing:

    Tramore
    Dunmore East
    Crooke
    Passage
    Cheekpoint
    Faithlegg
    Butlerstown
    Portlaw Water Supply

Overnight shut offs will operate from 7.00p.m. each evening until 7.00a.m. the following morning, with effect from Monday 27th December, 2010, until further notice

Garranbane & Knockateemore (Deelish Water Supply)

Overnight shut offs will operate from 7.00p.m. each evening until 7.00a.m. the following morning, with effect from Monday 27th December, 2010, until further notice

    Lismore Glencairn & Surrounding Areas

Overnight shut offs will operate from 9.00p.m. each evening until 8.00a.m. the following morning until further notice

    Tallow Water Supply

Council crews are currently working on a major break in Tallow (Monday 27th December) there will be an interruption to the supply while detection and repair works are carried out.

Conserver Water, Check for Leaks and Repair Services

Waterford County Council is appealing to water consumers to conserve water in order to minimise disruption to supplies. The Council is also asking consumers and key holders of holiday homes and commercial properties to check individual properties for leaks and to effect repairs as quickly as possible.

    Update::

Overnight shut-offs which applied to the entire scheme on Monday 27th, will apply to the town of Tramore only tonight (Tuesday 28th December) from 8.00p.m. until 9.00a.m. tomorrow (Wednesday 29th December). It will take time for pressure to build in the mains following shut offs hence consumers in elevated areas may experience delays before supply is restored in the morning. All areas on the East Waterford Water Supply can expect low pressure today and tomorrow. Rotational Shut offs will operate during the day tomorrow, but will not commence before 1.30p.m. to allow consumers the opportunity to use appliances and replenish drinking water. Crews are currently working on the Shanakiel/Dunmore East service repairing a major leak and consequently supply in this area is switched off at present. It is anticipated that this issue will be resolved tomorrow . Repairs in other areas of Tramore town are ongoing.

    Update:
    East Waterford Water Supply

Repairs undertaken on Monday and Tuesday have resulted in significantly improved reservoir levels and, as a consequence, overnight shut offs will not apply to most areas served by the East Waterford Water Supply. However, Tramore Town will continue to be subject to overnight shut offs from 8.00p.m. until 8.00a.m. until further notice while leak detection and repair works are ongoing in the area..

Dunmore East: Works are currently ongoing at Shanakeil and at Dunmore Harbour. There will be interruption to the supply in these areas while works are under way.

Cheekpoint: Some households are currently without water due to frozen services, it is likely that this situation should improve over the course of the day

    Portlaw Water Supply

Overnight shut offs will operate from 10.00p.m. this evening until 7.00a.m. tomorrow morning and each night until further notice. There will be an interruption to the supply today while leak detection and repair works are carried out. Reservoir levels have improved significantly as a result of repairs carried out on Tuesday and it's expected that the situation will further improve today.

    Ballyduff/Kilmeaden Supply

There mayl be some interruptions to the supply today while leak detection and repair works are carried out, however it is anticipated that no shut offs will be required overnight.

Garranbane & Knockateemore (Deelish Water Supply)

Overnight shut offs will operate from 7.00p.m. each evening until 7.00a.m. the following morning, until further notice.

    Lismore Glencairn & Surrounding Areas

Overnight shut offs will operate from 9.00p.m. each evening until 8.00a.m. the following morning until further notice.

    Ballyduff Upper

Overnight shut offs will operate from 8.00p.m. each evening until 8.00a.m. the following morning, until further notice.

    Tallow Water Supply

Council crews are continuing to work on a major break in Tallow today. There will be an interruption to the supply while detection and repair works are carried out. Overnight shut offs will operate from 8.00p.m. each evening until 8.00a.m. the following morning, until further notice.

    Ballylaneen Water Supply

A boil water notice is in place on the Ballylaneen Water Supply which services Kill, Bonmahon, Annestown and the surrounding areas. Consumers should boil all water used for drinking, preparing food, brushing teeth etc.

    Ballymacarbry Water Supply

There may be some intermittent disruption to the supply today while repair works are ongoing.

    Ring Water Supply

There may be some intermittent disruption to the supply today. At present it is not anticipated that overnight shut offs will prove necessary, however, the situation is being monitored.

    Clonea Power Water Supply

Consumers are experiencing interruption to the supply again today while detection and repair work is being scheduled.
