Right got a problem with a Dell Inspiron 1720 and a Belkin F5D8233-4V3.

Problem goes like this if you put the laptop to sleep or hibernate the laptop, when it comes back the network symbol shows net connection(ie the globe over the two screen) but when Mozilla or Chrome or IE is started up it won't connect and then come it with the icon for limited connectivity

Its does not appear to be the modem / router as the whole time the error comes up both my phone (HTC Android) and the wifes (Sony Erickson W995) can connect

I have tried to updating the firmware on the router, the driver for the wireless card (built in 1935 WLAN) and changed channels on the router from 1 to 11 and nothing seems to work, any ideas what could be causing this ?

First thing to do would be to rule out the possibility of power saving causing the problem :

To turn power management features on or off on a network adapter :

    1. Open Network and Sharing Center (click the Start button, type Network and Sharing in the Start Search box, and press Enter).
    2. Click the Change adapter settings link in the upper left of the navigation pane.
    3. Right click the network connection you want to enable/disable power management support on and click Properties.
    4. Click Configure.
    5. On the Power Management tab, check or clear the Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power check box.
    * When checked, power management is enabled on the network adapter.
    * When cleared, power management is disabled on the network adapter.

that sorted it, there was another power setting in there as well and now its working fine, thank god it was for the father in law and would never hear the end of it if it didn't work :D
