Chicharito for Gibson, two up top.

Who would you play on the wing? Rooney or Hernandez? Much rather Obertan on the wing, him being a winger and all!

    Terrible terrible game....

I've watched a lot of Premiership football matches over the holidays and I have to say the vast majority of them have been absolutely appalling.

It's hasn't been a feast of amazing displays at all has it?
United in the first half against Sunderland was good viewing it's been mostly a bunch of lads who look like they'd rather be chilling out at home eating sweets and drinking cans.

    Glazers Out!

Obertan on the wing and Rooney up front or Rooney on the wing and Hernandez up front, depending on the change.

I don't see it happening anyway.

Take Gibson off for Obertan and go 442. Rooney does not want to be out wide and Giggs has never been great on the right.

I also think Chicho would offer more up front than berba, away from home he just looks like he does not care. Chico also has the pace to play the ball over the top, everything is being played in front of Birmingham's defence and they are comfortable with it.

I'd say fergie's yawning his way through his half time team talk right now.
If anyone in the Birmingham area suffers from insomnia I'm sure their doctor would prescribe them a trip to St Andrews.

    Glazers Out!

It's strange that rooney never seems to play out on the right. He played a few times on the left but needs to cut in. He might be able to do more out on the right with giggs left and hernandez on for gibson

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,511 ✭✭✭SK1979

I'd even put fletcher on for Gibson. Then go 4-4-2 with Rooney and berba up top and giggs on the left.

    God awful stuff so far.

I'm not having that. Berbatov's been by far our best attacking player. Is everyone just going to ignore how terrible Rooney has been? He's been as infuriating as a 2009 Nani.

I'd have Rooney and Gibson off for Chicho and Obi-Tan ASAP

gibson cant play football in tight spaces, its pretty obvious when he's closed down like birmingham are doing and denying him space that he lacks the composure or ideas, dosnt have the awareness or close control to be a top midfielder, against teams who stand off or dont press him he can be dangerous

When Berba plays up front on his own away from home he is so moody and rarely scores. He is giving out to everybody out there. I just dont think he is cut out for that role, He should be playing behind a main striker. He doesnt have the pace or the mentality to make runs behind the defence and doesnt have the great strength of a Drogba to hold it up

If I wanted any player on the ball to hold it up, it would be berba.

Thread has somehow come to life!!:P

Bring on Zigic, be interesting to see him against Vidic.

    @ ET_Phone_Home
Blame the system not the player. Giggs and Rooney are supposed to be playing on the wings but they're playing everywhere else instead. Would you rather Rooney up front on his own in this form? I agree 4-5-1 isn't working but it's not Berbatov's fault, he hasn't put a foot wrong.

That short corner from Brum sums us up unfortunately, very lethargic. The tempo needs to be upped.

Edit - Just like that :D
