Anderson the underdog against Brunson, that seems off to me. May go for the single also but think I'll be doubling him up with Glover for a 5/2 double.

  • Registered Users Posts: 7,738 ✭✭✭ASOT

    Silva
    Mohammed
    McCall
    LaFlare
    Glover

16/1 seems way to generous on this, Single also on Mohammed who should beat brown.

I dunno I know Brown wasn't great against Montano and needed that late finish can't comment on his last fight as I didn't see it, Mohammed's only win in 3 in the UFC is against Dodger who is clearly muck.

Jim Miller shouldn't be as big an outsider as bookmakers have him tonight.

    Holm/Silva double seems tempting tonight.

    Makhachev by Sub
    Reis by decision
    Teixeira by KO/TKO
    Souza by Sub

Acca pays just north of 80/1

I have a few quid on holm/silva double, also just threw 5 euro on miller by KO. What came to mind was Conor saying "a gust of wind and Poirier does the chicken dance"

    Decent start to 2017s betting.

Inexperienced gambling rookie here but what happens with an accumulator which has McCall in it? Showing up as unsettled but I stand to win 160. Genuine question. Not after timing.

Will go down as void and returns reduced. Thats what happened to mine. Because he was such bad odds it didnt effect my bet to much.g

Glover let my acca down. Had him to win via ko or sub

Holm let my accumulator down. Was on to win €80 after backing Jacare, Glover, Silva and Holm. Feel hard done by with the controversy and most people scoring for Holm :(

But on the other hand Silva was gifted that decision so it kind of evens out!

True :) Although it was a close fight! Brunson did not run away with it but maybe I'm biased. 20-27 for Silva was bullsh!t though...

I've said it before, and last night reinforced it for me. The Over/Under rounds market is consistently screwed up.

    How do you mean?

I think the bookies way over value finishes. They set the line at 1.5 rounds a lot, with even-Ish odds where a decision is way more likely that an early finish.

It's a handy way to get on the decision but include a late finish to protect your bet. Or to cover finishes from either early. Like Jacare v Tim B. They weren't going to hang around

Edit: 4 or 5 fight over/under accum is bet I like. Especially where you don't really care who wins

Have to agree with Mellor; the over 1.5 market on some fights is a goldmine.

Might try this market for a while to see if I can get my Sportsbook back in profit. I requested every bet I ever made on my PP account and I'm down €101.68 overall! Never follow my bets :D

(I should mention that includes some soccer and horse racing from years ago, sports I know fúck all about)

Last weekend example, the Silva v Brunson, Miller v Dustin P, and Teixeira v Cannonier were set at 1.5rounds. The odds were 1.72, 1.9 and 1.95.
Jacare was also set at 1.5 rounds, but unders were favourite. That was an easy pick given the likelihood of early sub or KO from Botch.

I'm not trying to aftertime, so I'll leave last week at that. Let's check out nest weekends cards

I'd love these lines if they were anywhere near the even money ball park on the below fights

Heavyweight Derrick Lewis vs. Travis Browne Under 2.5
Middleweight Johny Hendricks vs. Hector Lombard Over 1.5
Women's Bantamweight Sara McMann vs. Gina Mazany Over 1.5
Women's Strawweight Carla Esparza vs. Randa Markos Over 1.5

    FWIW 4 fights around 1.7-2.0 pays 10/1,
    5 fights pays 20/1

Quick question Mellor, where do you get historic odds? Is there a good source or did you just remember/take notes?

Tapology has odds going back a long time. You can click on a fighters page and will show you a lot of stats for all their fights.

Edit: Just went to look at Fedors page and it has odds on his fights going back to 2002. Great website tapology.com

You'll get head to head odds but you won't get over/under and similar markets.

It's very hard to find those odds online afterwards.
I simply still had my betting slip. :D

    Beautiful, thank you.
Gonna have to figure out how to extract that data into a spreadsheet or something

Was secretly hoping somebody here was a webdesigner or coder and knew where to look to find the database. I'm scratching my head tbh
