I survived the less than 4.5 rounds in the Barao v TJ fight by 4 seconds :D , had doubled it up with Krause which made up for my loss on a Barao Ko.

I thought <4.5 rounds means 4 rounds or less and not 2:30 into the last round or less?

    Nah, it's to the midpoint.
It's not like football where a half score handicapp is used to remove the draw. In this case it's used to increase the options

    What's the guess?

    Brandao at +135?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 23,938 ✭✭✭✭mailburner

i'd say pricing will be similiar to the miller mcg match up
maybe brandao might be a bit shorter than miller
    im guessing 4/7 conor v 13/8 diego

On another note I think diego sanchez is overpriced at 13/8
    to beat pearson

looks a very even match up to me

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,441 ✭✭✭califano

Yeah 4/6 4/7 will be chalked up initially id say then will harden to 1/2 closer to the time.

I think it will be priced in that region and I'm praying for the Irish to get behind Conor and drive the price out for Brandao.

Brandao priced at 2/1 on Paddy Power

    +1
maybe someone here sees something we both can't

    I can't see why either
    pearson is no myles jury
all I see is a scrap and there's few better
    scrappers than diego

Also for me the biggest piece of relevant evidence is he was on his way to an ass whooping against Melvin Guillard before it was luckily for him imo declared a no contest. And i think Sanchez would handle Guillard. I fully expected Sanchez to be odds on here. I guess i now have to put my money where my mouth is.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 852 ✭✭✭The Belcher

Sanchez struggles against technical guys though and Pearson is fairly technical. I couldn't really call it myself but ye two lads are making me lean towards Sanchez. I agree with Califano, Pearson was going to be sparked by Guillard and I think Sanchez would have caused Guillard problems. I suppose for value alone Sanchez is probably worth a small wager. I couldn't pick my nose this weather though so am wary.

I think pearson on points would be a better bet. Good luck in your bets though!

for anyone fancying ross then this is surely the only way to go

that kunt has a concrete head
I think sanchez might have the best chin in mma or close to it

I hope this turns into a brawl

    I've gone with ;

    Dos Anjos
    Pearson
Dodson on pts (8/5! Scandalous price)
    Henderson

    The quad pays about 5/1

    balls
    I missed that one

hate when someone picks out a gem and you have to go investing more :D

interesting that he already has a ud win over moraga

I was very surprised when I saw that. Moraga is very gritty and durable. I had €20 on that single as well as my quad.

Went with dod pts at 8/5

    treble of pts wins on
    dodson
    bendo
    dos anjos
    12.5/1

    quad
    same three with diego
    50/1

    paddy

    due one of these

    single on sanchez at 13/8

    he sure is
i'd say itll be the same as the last fight

dodson with a big speed advantage with moraga only stopped
once in the 5th v demetrious in 16fights

funny how you miss stuff that you shouldn't
so focused on diego I overlooked this one

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 39,658 ✭✭✭✭Mellor

    Went with pearson @1.72 and Dodson/Moraga over 2.5 rds @ 1.8

Bendo with his first finish in 4 years to ruin my night..... Had a 20 euro single on Sanchez aswell which was an absolute robbery with the price & how he somehow managed to win, shocking judging going on lately.

thought dodson was nailed on for a pts win
only something like a doctor stoppage couldve prevented that

As much as I dislike Dodson, he is a clear finisher. Serious speed in his feet and hands

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,441 ✭✭✭califano

Sanchez won it quite snugly in the end, what did i tell yiz. You only have to look at the cards to see:D

I was pretty sure he'd be a little bit shorter myself than
miller was so I'm just as baffled as you are
    I'd have thought 13/8 brandao
I think he's a better test for conor

I'd be interested to see how some other bookies price
    that one up

  • Moderators, Computer Games Moderators Posts: 11,139 Mod ✭✭✭✭Mr. Manager

Gonna see if the price changes at all and get a few quid on him. Ideally would want to find the market that Brandao finishes the fight but its not up yet.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 39,658 ✭✭✭✭Mellor

PP prob just based his price off a McGregor price if 1/3

Brandao is 3.5 on betfair. I can't see him going further than that

Not a bad betting card this weekend. My treble for the weekend is Johnson, Bader & Woodley. I think Bader can put that fight wherever he wants it and Calvacante looked 'fleshy' to say the least in the UFC Countdown show so I expect him to gas. I haven't felt this strongly about a Woodley win since he stunk up the joint against Jake Shields but I think this is his time. I just can't see Rory forcing Woodley to take a backward step and I think his quickness getting inside will see him score enough points to get the win. Rory is quite tentative when put on the back foot and I think Woodley will do this. Rory has most success when his opponent's are retreating (Maia). 10 euro bet pays out 36 including the stake.

I also have a sneaking suspicion that Johnson will get the finish, he is looking better and better in each fight and the 'will the fight go the distance' bet is 5/4 to end inside the 5 rounds. This covers the chance that Bagautinov pulls the shock upset as well.

struggling to find any value here but went with this double at 13/10

    ovince st preux
    rory/tyrone to go the distance

Think ovince st preux is better standing than jimmo

rory mac and tyrone I think will be a very cagey affair with
rory trying to win safe gsp style and woodley...honestly don't
    know what he's gonna do
I know he's good enough and explosive enough to do serious
damage but ive lost faith since the shields fight
I really think the first round will be instantly forgettable
with both being very cagey and lots of boos

was awful tempted by mighty mouse at 10/11 by decison but
not confident enough to have a decent bet
it's an obvious one but a chitty enough price for a five rounder

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,442 ✭✭✭weemcd

Alot of close fights on this card tonight. Not one for gambling much on.

I've a few quid on Baga as he is good value in my book

I think Bagautinov at 10/1 by knock out could be worth a few quid. I haven't done any bets but if he was to upset things I'd imagine it could be that way.

Nate Marquardt @ 2/1 against Te Huna seems like a fantastic bet to me.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 23,938 ✭✭✭✭mailburner

The hulk at 6/4 v rosholt looks huge imo

I'd see that as a very even match up myself

    great picking there cali :)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,442 ✭✭✭weemcd

Wouldn't back Marquardt this weather against anyone, let alone a LHW moving down in weight to fight him. TeHuna is not high level by any stretch of imagination but Nate has been lit up in his last 3 fights against Welterweights.

Thanks it was decent plundering. In the interests of full disclosure i had one more bet 20 on the main event not to go 5 rounds(can never resist that as 5rds is a lot of fighting, but this wasnt a good fight to do it) which was the bet just above McDonald one at the top, but shur why wouldnt i crop that out!.

Thats still a good price imo, i was just gonna post about it without even knowing he started at 6/4. Soa is on a tear at the moment & I cant see Rosholt stopping him whatsoever.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 23,938 ✭✭✭✭mailburner

    few bets this weekend

    all singles
main bet on the hulk with two smaller ones

    the hulk at 6/5 (paddy)
the longer it goes on the more chance i'd give rosholt but
    cant ignore that price

    ferreira by sub 11/4 (888)
don't rate craig at all, ferreira likes subs :pac:

    swanson by ko 7/4 (888)
will blow stephens away despite his toughness
his striking is on a different level

    good luck with yer wans

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,541 ✭✭✭Davei141

I have a double on Craig and Soa. Ferreira has a weak chin and the reason Craig lost badly vs Luke Barnatt was he had no respect for him and paid for it. I don't expect him to be so sloppy again.

he was so bad v barnatt I couldnt understand that at all.
he wasnt much better v leban, a fight I thought he'd sail through

I think ferreira is a level above him myself
I had ferreira down as a 2/7 shot not an 8/15
