Anyone like Denis Siver against Swanson?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 23,915 ✭✭✭✭mailburner

glad silva is 8/11 and not evens for ko or i'd be on that
so many pros picking weidman would have me a little concerned though
For me edgar pts at 17/10 is my idea of the best bet here so thats my
main bet, didn't go big though.
I think edgar will keep this standing and win a comfortable decision
I don't think oliveira is in frankies league at all but I'm glad frankie
is getting something easier on the way to something bigger hopefully

couple of small ones then on
    double
    silva by ko 8/11
    edgar pts 17/10

    sub of the nite
    gonzaga at 7/1

    silly treble on
    gonz sotn
    silv kotn 5/2
    siver swans fotn 9/2

Got Silva by KO/TKO at 10/11 on Betfair yesterday.

    Thank you Weidman hype!!

How would you guys rate Weidman's chin?

Haven't really followed his career, I guess he went 3 rounds with a power striker like Uriah Hall so it can't be that bad.

Just wondering can he absorb Anderson's power.

I honestly don't think there are too many out there who Silva cane stop. Hes so accurate too which makes him more "Powerful".

Weidman could have the best chin around but Silva could still put him away.

I'm looking at the markets thinking all the favs might win
there's 11 of em in it and i see at least 9 winning
the acca pays 42/1 with pp and i've just taken that for a laugh.
did a mad one like this before with 7 or 8 selections and it came
down to pat barry who was gonna kill struve imo (didnt work that way:pac:
if this comes down to silva and weidman takes him I won't be
too disappointed as vitor will then take out weidman and give
    me another decent payday :D

I never bet on anything but a treble on Siver, Herman and Olivera by sub got me around 70-1 which I think is ridiculous. I have a double on Siver and Herman as well, both of whom I think could easily dominate.

Wouldn't normally put money down but those odds are off the wall.

Gonzaga is the worst 4/11 shot ive ever seen.

Anderson Silva 10/11(KO) Betfair is the best 10/11 shot ive ever seen.

not one to be taking a short price on but this time I think he
    should be a short price
He doesn't have a lot to beat in fairness and if he loses to herman
it will be by far his worst loss given he's lost to the very best (bar schaub)
herman will be getting his p45 after this one imo

It's actually not, Herman shouldn't be in The UFC. I think he'll finish him early in the first

Off all the people who I thought who lose me that accumulator,I didn't think it would be Anderson.especially since he was in control.Paddy power only paid out half odds because there was 2 fon,is this normal?

no sub of the night so money back on that one

    siver/swans edgar/oliveira shared fotn

9 it was lol and to think it could have come down to silva
i would have been counting my money there so im glad melancon
    beat baczynski
please let vitor get the next shot

If Vitor gets the next shot then lump on him QUICK, his odds will be great but will drop drastically leading up to the fight

    I will be lumping alright
I thought the same with rockhold though and thought evens
was a gift almost two weeks before the fight but the price
    stood firm and never shortened

I think you're right with this one though, I could see vitor
starting around 6/4-7/4 and after that who knows
I think bookies will almost certainly have weidman a false price but
then again I may be wrong

Couple of nice underdogs on the UFC on fox card Saturday in my opinion.

Chiesa over Masvidial (15/8). Chiesa has 2 submission wins in a row and at that price I think represents some value. Has a chance to pull a sub win here I think

Guillard over Danzig (10/11). Backing Guilldard is a bit like backing Pat Barry, it will probably bite you in the ass but it's fun all the same. Danzig doesn't have the same wrestling skills that Jamie Varner does so I don't see him dominating Guillard the way Varner did. I think a comeback KO for Guillard could be on the cards.

Ellenberger over MacDonald (15/8). I think Ellenberger has the wrestling to take the fight where he wants it be that standing or on the ground and I think his power can back up MacDonald. Really looking forward to this fight and I have a feeling that Ellenberger is a bit grizzlier and can get the upperhand and the decision.

Going to have a small bet on each of these and an accumulator with the same guys.

gone the opposite to you broders with a double
of rory mac and masvidal which worked out best
    at slightly over evens (vcbet)

I think seeing ellerberger at 2s is an insult to him but I do
think rory mac would handle anyone in the division bar gsp myself yet
the price on rory is awful to be fair (4/11)

As for chiesa masvidal, I think this is a big step up for chiesa and
I do respect his ground game but I feel if he can't get masvidal
to the mat he will be in trouble
It's a chance i'm willing to take that he doesn't and I'm sure jorge will
have been working on that aspect of his game more than anything
Chiesa might be up to the task and I wouldn't put anyone off backing
him and the 12/5 available (365) is big enough in fairness

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 23,915 ✭✭✭✭mailburner

interesting that 18 of 27 pros picked jake over rory
that makes jakes price of 2/1 look very big
    I'm sticking with rory though

I think the bj win for Rory was nothing more than a showcase,I feel most top 20 ww's would beat bj these days and ellenbergers victim list is much more impressive..in saying that it's a very even fight, the odds On ellenberger are far too generous so I'm going with him.best of luck mate

Thanks broders, best of luck yourself
If masv doesnt beat chiesa ill be rooting for jake
    That's true about bj
He called bj out knowing full well he was going to dominate him
He's had a fairly easy time of it since his loss to condit, a fight
which he had won if the ref let it go a few more seconds
He was fully entitled to win his next four fights well so this is
really his first test since condit imo
It was an amazing start albeit his second ufc start to almost
beat carlos who had just come off a dec loss to kamp and a
    dec win to jake
He took carlos down at will and that probably wont happen to jake so
im looking forward to what tactics he'll employ but no doubt his tactics
will be spot in being part of the same camp as the champ
I'd be surprised if he stood and traded with jake myself

such an open division when you think condit, rory, kamp and jake have
beaten or been beaten by one of the other
