moving dark shadows

Hi just wondering if any one else has seen moving dark objects about the size of a small dog - large cat , we have seen them in our house in the past few months, the figures just last a couple of seconds and disappear , it doesnt happen everyday , and it only started recently , both my partner and i see them , we have had a death in the family recently but the death didnt occur at the house .
any ideas?. it is a house built in the last 7or 8 years on virgin field , no old ruins etc

Well if its related to the death in the family the location wouldnt really matter as much.
