Hi, does anyone know what time the ISS will be passing?:)

taffy the 2 passes are at 17.31 till 17.34 from s-to -ese,and second will be to short but here goes 19,35-19-36 from wswto sw hopes that helps,,,but check out heavens above for all the times ok

If you have a iPhone etc then the free NASA app is very handy tells you next sighting and the in-app compass tells which way to look

True but not visable every day. We see it for a number of days at a time and then there is a gap where it is not visible {Passes during daylight hours}:)

its just like a small star moving across the sky. Youd have to know which direction to be looking to spot it.

reading from ghost trains table above is it to be seen tonight (31/12) at three mins to eight, but duration is only one second ?

w for west is mentioned, does that mean it comes from the west/

Iv seen it many times and it's certainly worth a look as it whizzs past at unbelievable speed. Not that long ago one of the NASA astronauts took a picture of Ireland while flying past at night time and then posted it up on twitter (@astrowheels) so when your looking at it next don't forget to smilefor the camera

Should be visible this evening moving from South southwest at 16:48 to vanish in the Earths shadow at about 16:54 in the East. Black line in the attached.


Visible again at 18:22 from the west and entering the Earths shadow at 18:25 heading East


These are the times for Waterford so will differ slightly for other areas.
Of course it all depends on cloud cover which is complete at the moment:(

The guy who took that is now back on earth but there's another guy (@cdrkelly I think) up there taking pics for his 'space-geo' quiz every few days where he takes a picture of a country/labdmark from iss and Youv to guess where/what .
I was left speechless when the other guy posted that pic on twitter . You can make out every village/town/city from lights
Sorry I didn't post the pic up iv it saved on my phone and the rest is too confusing but thanks to the person who did as it backed up my previous post

Yeah the guys name is Scott Kelly, a NASA astronaut on board the station since October. He is the current station commander. Thats him below.

i would recommend getting Stellarium, an add-on the satellite option. Useful for tracking them live and quickly! i swear by it

the second one @19:00 was obscured by cloud though,

for finding out where and when the iss will pass,

just enter your lat and lon on the input tab.

Hi, i got to see the space station last night at about 5.50pm, it was really bright, i took photos but it was going very fast and all that i could get was a white streak

Two passes this evening, skies permitting.

First from 17:06 to 17:12 weat to east.




Second pass 18:41 to 18:45, from the west vanishing in the Earths shadow to the south.

will always be west to east I think

sometimes it will disappear half way across the sky as it goes into the shadow of the earth so that might be why you might get shorter transit times listed

here's an updated table, looks like tonight will be very bright if the weather is right to see it, second chance to see it if first is missed
