I was going to say late/early but I decided not to! Even when I go to bed at 2am and have to get up at 9am I still considerate it tomorrow morning that I have to be up....just to fool myself into thinking I have more time to sleep!:P

Pesky Edit: Nothing but Clouds over my part of Dublin.
i did see a vapour trail that i like to think was at least the ISS.

Heads up anyone still up that wants to see the iss tonight (this morning). Look up at 1.45 - 1.48, south to east. And again at 3.18 - 3.23, southwest to east. Sky's fairly clear out.

Just saw it, (1:54 am). Stunning, it hurls through the sky, also even at this late hour, there is still an orange horizon out west from here (Co. Sligo) and a near full moon in the opposite direction. The whole thing is simply moving.

Now, can anyone tell me, why does the ISS shine? What makes it light up? is it simply reflecting the sun?

  • Registered Users Posts: 8,720 ✭✭✭Hal1

Saw it too. The massive solar panels reflecting in the sun light make it appear so bright.

You guessed it. Was out meself looking at it. Not to warm out either, sheet of ice on the roof of d brothers car. The ISS is overhead again at 3.28 but i'll be in blanket street by then.

Will the ISS be viewable tonight along with the lunar eclipse?

ISS rising in the WSW at 22:42 setting in the E at 22:48
A small bit of the moon should still be in the Earths shadow at this time. :)

    Also passing over at 00:13, 01:48, 03:34.

They're UTC times, add an hour for BST
