Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

If you comment on a status for someone in one group and there settings are to allow all users to see what's on there wall then it negates your own privacy settings?...I'd assume. If you comment on someones pictures, it all depends on that persons privacy settings?

I have set up the permissions on my page for groups also. Where I get caught out is when I comment on a picture or a status of someone who has somebody else I know as a friend.

I don't know for sure as I'm not overly concerned with that myself. I do see threads where it looks like comments are missing so I assume that if you set it so people can't see your stuff, people can't see your stuff, regardless of where it is. Especially if you've blocked the person, there's no way they can find out you exist on facebook, even if you're tagged by someone else.

ok interesting. I haven't seen missing comments yet. Maybe there is one more thing I'm missing. Altough as it is I have very very restricted permissions set on everybody but family so I'm not sure what it could be.

Why the confusion? People update their status on facebook multiple times throughout the day. Don't use that twitter. It's just like the facebook status function without any other ability.

I dunno, I've never come across anyone that makes status' more than five times a day, and if I do, they get deleted (dont know how to ignore them..).
Twitter is actually good for news updates though. Obviously I dont follow Hannah Montanna or any of that shit, just SpursOnSide (for news on the team I support) and a few journos. Handy for getting news without having to read through full articles. At most I'd get 20 tweets a day from the 4/5 people I follow.

Perhaps comments were deleted or someone has me blocked, then. Blocking definitely makes sure they can't see any trace of you (unless they're logged out, though, I guess).

I've never gone as far as blocking somebody. Would people not get access denied or something? I have no problem with someone trying to find me and only seeing whatever picture I have up with no other info. Actually going to the effort to block someone seems to have a little more malice behind it than not adding them as a friend...or maybe that's just me. It means you actually went to the effort of making a sh!tlist and blocking people.

It's the exact same amount of effort as adding someone to a group and setting permissions that way, just this way they don't know you're on (or still on) Facebook. In fact, it's faster.

It doesn't get access denied, it just comes up as if it can't find a profile because it doesn't exist.

All this said I've only ever had to block one person and I've been on Facebook since '06.

Okie dokie. I only have 1 new group so that didn't take much effort. The other group are the left overs that have the permissions set by what friends can view.

There's one 'friend' of mine does my head in. He walked out on his partner recently, they have 3 kids together, they've split up and got back together more than I've had hot dinners but he always finds gems like this on facebook:

Every breath I take is 4 u, every beat my heart beats is 4 u, every step i take is 4 u, every dream i have is 4 u, every minute of my life is 4 loving u ♥

    or

There are many words I could use to explain what I THINK of you but there are only three words I can use to explain how I FEEL about you: I love you! ♥

This is daily abuse, I have hidden his profile and called him on it numerous times.
    ****ing PUKE!

Just keep updating your status with your political and economical ponderings for the day. AH style.

Sooner or later all the riff raff will have deleted you has a friend, and the rest will have blocked you from news feeds. Simples

When I see a post like that from people I don't know so well I usually comment underneath: "I just farted". Cue utter confusion from the braniac OP. They often delete their own post to pretend that didn't just happen

    Yeah mods..what's Facebook?

I rememeber not too long ago a thread that was started about Facebook being closed for the very reason it was about Facebook.

What the hell is this Facebook thingy? And why are some posters allowed thread about it and others not?

Those ones really grind my gears, "sleeps" what the fuck kind of retarded English is that? I don't think it's facebook I hate, it's the fact that most people I seem to be 'friends' with are fucking degenerates and it disgusts me to be even 'connected' with them and their shite English in this way.

With hindsight I should have posted my Facebook status as; ''I have just blown the headgasket on my 1997 Ford'' rather than ''I've just f*cked a 13 year old escort''

Still I don't get out very much and a few hours down at the Garda station made a change.:(:(:mad::confused::eek:

Sniff Sniff...Nobody notices you for 5 years despite your best efforts...then you tell a smutty joke and 130 something people 'like'....does that say something about me or AH...hmmmm:D
