    An accum on the games

    Chicago Bulls 10/11
    San Antonio 2/5
    Miami Heat 1/3
    Golden State 1/5

Not placing this yet cos if I'm back in time for all matches I might throw in some spreads.

    Bulls straight win at 10/11.
Spurs -5 against the pacers at 10/11
    Miami -9 at 11/10
    Golden state -8 4/6
Throwing in the Magic straight at 1/6,just to better the odds.

They're VC,they have good spreads for GS and Miami games.

Big handicap chase and always good value to be found in it.Has good form over staying distances and is consistent. Came 3rd in the Midlands National in a swamp last year.Although he pulled up on his seasonal reappearance he'll be better for the experience and the ground and trip will be no problem for him.4 places to be paid and this looks a good price for a horse who has a good chance I think.

Has a good chance tomorrow I think, Won a small hurdle race last time very easily by a distance and I think she can handle the step up in class. Won over this distance, the one worry would be the soft to heavy ground but this isn't the strongest mares hurdle in the world and could go well.

Very consistent chaser but only has one win to his name over fences, but rarely finishes out of the first three. Has the track record here. Rated 152 which is fair I think and hope he can go close.

Was looking at French Opera too,but there's an 8 pounds swing from when French Opera beat Free World by about a length a year ago. The big thing was Free World having the track record there, hopefully we both go well. That race at Chepstow should be a great one.

I've texted my friend to tell him to place the next bet if he can get 6/1 or above on
    Solstice Knight 11.45 Punchestown
Made to be a chaser, quickly sent over the bigger obstacles last season when he made one chase start, running promisingly in a novice chase at Navan last season. If he's fit I can see him getting placed at least. Trip and ground no worries.

I can already write that as a loss. Bulls lead most the match but currently 12 down. SA down 11 aswell.

    Some NBA bets for tonight.
New York versus Phoenix Suns-Knicks 5/4
Knicks playing at Phoenix tonight. Knicks are the highest scoring team in the NBA against the third highest. The suns put up a good match agaisnt LA the other night, but that was an LA team under pressure and needed the win badly. Suns are too dependant on Steve Nash and if he has a quiet game the whole team does. Both allow quite a large amount of points per game so might do an under overs bet too. Suns aren't the same without Stouadamire and Knicks can take this.
    Stake:20 euro

I had a quick look. This is arguably easier than the graded races that he was in last season,he faced better horses than many of these and ran with a lot of credit I thought. 136 with a decent claimer on boards leaves him nicely weighted too,I wouldn't be surprised to see him nearer 150 come the end of the season, think he has a few chases in him if he can put his last run behind him.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,838 ✭✭✭Nulty

I'm looking for something that indicates that hes ready to step up tomorrow. The jockey is 1 from 50 in chases - this being his first season

The Bull Hayes 12.20 Leop. 8/1

I'm gonna throw a bet on
    Foster's Cross MCR Hurdle 28/1
Just backing him cos I always do when I see him running. Last backed him when he was placed in the November Handicap. One worry is he's near the top of the weights but is a pound down from a good second over this trip last time out on soft ground,so could get a place.

    Shirley Casper 12.50 Leopardstown 15/2
A horse that never quite lived up to its early promise, finishing 4th in the Chamption bumper at Cheltenham and 3rd in the Irish equivalent in 07. Since is a Grade 3 winner over hurdles and consistenly placed. Started chasing with promise, finishing a 2 length forth at Naas before being turned over at 1/2 last time out. This looks a decent race but hope for a place at least, carrying only 11-7.

Quite a versatile horse, going for just his 5th try over hurdles, having ran on the flat and went novice chasing last season.Has only finished out of the top 3 once, and that was a competitive handicap at Galway in the Summer when he was brought over to Ireland. Has won twice over hurdles and mostly over this trip of 2 miles tomorrow.Goes on good to soft so that not a worry.Race fitness not a worry as it had a good third over 18 furlong on the flat last week and hoping he can go well tomorrow.

Just looked, must be some money for him, best priced 5/1 favourite now,was 8/1 third favourite earlier.

    Earth Magic 2.00 Leicester 3.45
A horse who was once very smarted and rated in the mid 140's when in Ireland. Those days well behind him but dropped into a seller here. Ran in one last time over the same distance in heavy ground and won by a distance at odds of 4/11. This harder but that should do his confidence the world of good.

Going to post a few more ante post bets in the coming while.

Starluck 2011 Champion Hurdle 20/1 Labrokes NRNB
I think it's a fair chance that he will turn up but said i'd go NRNB. Only a six year old and has ran once in that Champion Hurdle, last year, finishing 5th. Has won over 2 miles at Cheltenham and course form is a big for me. Has come 4th in the Triumph aswell. I think this season Cheltenham looks a year for younger horses so I think Menorah could be a solid chance but I think Starluck is much better value. Was beaten a short head in the Christmas Hurdle last year by Go Native and runs in it again this year and is currently second favourite behind Binocular. If he runs anyway good there I think he'll be shorter for the Champion.
    Stake:15 each way
    Balance:Minus 50

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 18,335 ✭✭✭✭UrbanSea

Dare Me Neptune Novice's Hurdle 2011 16/1 NRNB
Has done most of the running over 2 miles but has won over 2 miles 1 on good to soft and that's why I'm going to back him for this rather than the supreme novices,I think he might just lack that little bit of pace against some of the top 2 milers, even if he could get up the hill better than them. Has had 2 starts over hurdles to date and has been very impressive. Finished 6th in the Champion Bumper and then 2nd in a good Aintree one. It was tough to call between him or Rock On Ruby as to who to back but I think he represents much better value.
    Stake:15 each way
    Bal:-80

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 18,335 ✭✭✭✭UrbanSea

Wayward Prince RSA Chase 2011 14/1 NRNB
Can be got with one firm at 20/1,and again, likely to turn up here but knowing my luck he wouldn't if I didn't go NRNB. Has been everything that's been asked of him over fences. Won his first start at Huntingdon nicely and won a novice chase over 3 miles here last time. Looked like Chicago Grey was going to beat him at one point before falling, but Wayward Prince wasn't exactly screwed. Think course form is big in chases around Cheltenham and I would love to back the favourite, but 3/1 is far too short. This looks a nice each way bet for me.Made a nice novice hurdler including a grade 1 win at Aintree last year and is quick to be moved on to fences and I hope he can make a nice chaser too.
    Stake:25 each way
    Bal:-130

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 18,335 ✭✭✭✭UrbanSea

Bit of a risk the next one but going with
    Franklino 1.40 Doncaster 4.5
Going on his reputation here. Was a winner on the flat in France and came to Britain with a big reputation, twice getting turned over at short odds. Before his debut he was the favourite for the Triumph Hurdle so clearly a lot was expected.Faces good ground tomorrow for the first time without any soft in it and I'll give him a chance, recieving 7 pounds from the favourite too.
    Stake:20
    Bal:-150
