Actually I wasn't dodging it. I was ignoring it. But as your pressing me for an answer you'll have to explain something to me first .....................

when i read the original post i was just home from a days rough shooting i had been driving around with a mucky spaniel in the boot of my car and i had been in the local shop wearing my cartridge belt just forgot i was wearing it but they shoot themselves so its not a prob for anyone so i read the post as a generalisation of roughshooters \pot hunters because i was not aware of the term pothunter or its meaning and i took it as an insult it was also not clear that jg was talking specificly about the group of lads from his village it came across as a broad generalisation of shooters .i feel the original post lacked clarity and i got thewrong end of the stick

I thank a post berating pothunters which shows I don't like them either and then I post a comment on my amazement at how much some shooters whinge about other shooters and you reckon I've contradicted myself.

Now, how do you come to that conclusion?

As there's no practical difference between the two, aside from the posters who made the posts you responded to. Both were about pot hunters, both were going in the same direction. I find it strange how different conclusions are reached by the same poster on the same subject

so your telling me you cannot see where someone might get the wrong end of the stick from your op your ignorance is amusing i said i got the wrong end of the stick i explained the context in which i read and took understanding from it and you can still only look at its meaning from your point of view i had given the benifit of doubt to you but can see now that you just want to stir the **** ps please excuse my spelling

That has nothing to do with my question at all We cleared that up earlier when you said you had not changed your position on pot hunters since you thanked Cavan's post.

My question is on how come Cavan shooter isn't whinging too? Otherwise why make that comment in this thread when the thread is about the exact same thing as Cavan shooters post.

You can see where I am having trouble squaring that circle and I'd appreciate your help teasing it out.

No Snipe, I made a very clear opening post which other posters misinterpreted.

I don't see why that's hard for people to admit? It's wasn't long winded or over complicated.

I'll ignore your personal remarks towards me.

Some of these same LOCAL (in case anyone hasn't read that bit yet) pot hunters also:

Allow a lovely spaniel run loose on the main road seven days a week.
Shoot glass bottles on an elderly farmers farm without his permission, they don't clean up and cattle were injured as a result.
Freely admit they have little to no permission from landowners and go where they please with guns and dogs.

Your original question was how could I thank Cavan's post and then post mine about whinging. I explained that the two were unrelated. You progressed to the opinion that my whiging comment somehow contradicted my stance on pothunters.

That would be apparent Still, at some point you may be able to explain how you can have opposing views on the same thing, once different posters are involved. In the meantime, consider politics
