Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I stick to the same brand as I find sometimes cheaper stuff has smaller granules and comes out quicker also alot of the cheaper ones if they get a tiny bit of rain they are a disaster. I have an open top vicon so that's why I have that problem

Use about 4 different brands here. Find no difference in any tbh.
I'm able to set the spreader to different brands of fert though. Don't know if you can do that on other spreaders

Are lads fussy about brands? Not that I specified myself but I still find Gouldings the best.

I got grassland agro compound and nearly every second bag the granules were a noticeably different colour. Make you wonder have they been mixed right.

Find some brands more dusty than others too.

Find yara the best quality- by far

V good. I've heard of them, but haven't seen that brand available around here. You're probably buying direct by the artic.

I recognised fencing reels with the iron bar in the journal last week;)

Spreading some grassland Agro stuff the other day. Very disappointed with the quality. A lot of dust coming off it when spreading. Won't buy that brand again.

The robbers in the local co-op increased fert by €10-15/tonne this week. Haven't bought any there for years.

Good product, when used early/before warmth/heat/drought sets in.
Used in conjunction with MgSO4 it's a winning combination.

I read that quickly last night. Was thinking manganese for some reason. Is it the Mg or the sulphate you're after? Would that usually be applied in a spray? Might make a weed spray a bit more of a productive exercise on grassland.

Is the 14 units of Sulphur the total amount you would put out per acre in the year or would you apply more?

We've been using 1.5 bags/acre applied in first week of Apr for the past three seasons. We're sticking with it. Helps with root health iirc. Grass stays going longer in the dry with it.

On grazing block as well? Any issues with that much sulphur in the one go with cows? Go with sulpha can here as less s but go with 3 rounds before mid may

    Mg.
If I could post pics here I would show the marked effect of Mg in a field of wheat. Dramatic.
    2-4kg/ha.
    €300/ton.
All it is is Epsom salts...don't eat too much!

16 units S per cut of silage.
24-26 units S per year on grazing...unless of course you're using large quantities of fym...

What effect would FYM have? Experts saying now you should be spreading sulphur In your first application of fert and keep it in all year

    Recycling sulphur.
However S is easily washed out of soils, so the expert who advises S in Jan would want to be buying it for me...
