    Saturday - 14 Mile slow run - 14 @ 8:24 - Grade 7/10

4 on my own and then 10 with CL.... Her first double figure run since she began her comeback.

Decided to give the Lunar Racers one last try to see if there was any life left in them...there isn't!! the right shoe sounded like it had a puncture. Was quite hungry on this run and had a flat spot half way through but other than that it was all just heavy legged, partially from the shoes and partially from the 10 mile mountain trail run on Thursday night I presume.

Heading down to help out with the Ladies Meet and Train XC tomorrow morning and then coming home for a Superquinn special and hopefully a Liverpool victory!!

Well, I got her a mobile radiator for her doing "clean November" so I guess a dishwasher would be even more romantic ;)

    Tuesday - MLR 10 - 10 Miles at 8.18 - Grade 5/10.

Another flat spot tonight at about 4 miles. It all feels like such an effort sniffling and snoting my way around the streets... I am officially sick and tired of this cold.

What does the grade mean ? Effort ?

I think it's his level of showing off.;)

It's a scale the evil coach devised based on many elements. Put simply, a run at 8.20 should be closer to a 3..... 18 miles with 8 at HM pace should a 7.

Wednesday - The day started with a niggle in my hip (flexor maybe) and the man flu just seemed to get worse as the day wore on. In the end I decided to skip the 5 mile recovery run.

Thursday - Feel a little better than yesterday on the cold front but hip still sore. I'm being advised to down tools again today so we'll see how the day goes.

Friday arrived with the man flu feeling worse again...What's going on? So that was no run on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday!

Saturday - I was awoken by a lively CL getting ready for a training run at the parkrun in Malahide and I really didn't feel great but was determined to at least get out and run and see if there was any possibility of the 16 mile LSR. After 2 miles I was wrecked, breathing heavily and legs getting progressively more sore. Ended up making what was a sensible decision and curtailed the effort to 7.5 Miles at 8:35. Did 15 mins on the turbo trainer back in the house to see if that would ease the leg pain... It didn't.

If I feel okay later tomorrow I'll try a few recovery miles... All in all I won't be too unhappy with missing 3 days if the weekly mileage ends up close to 30. Clearly this dose has taken a lot out of me but thankfully (touch wood) it hasn't gone down to my chest. Hip flexor has all but cleared!

The Black Lung still has me in its grip......:(

Sunday - The Foot put herself down and would not let me out the door despite my suggestion that I run to pick up the car. Getting really frustrated at this stage, I've only run once since last Tuesday!!!

    Tuesday - Black Lung update.....

Clara take this badge off of me,
    I can't use it anymore.
It's gettin' dark, too dark to see,
I feel like I'm knockin' on Heaven's door.
