I saw the logo for this on the back of the Limerick FC season ticket this year alright. Hopefully this might help with the local council helping to back limericks move back to the markets field. With Limerick being the sporting capital of Europe for the year it would be ridiculous of them to not be out supporting local teams.

Limerick now joins a select number of European Cities of Sport for 2011. Other cities already selected are; Parma, Treviso, and Trieste in Italy, North Lanarkshire in Scotland, and Puertollano in Spain.

Oh I understand now its one of a few cities with the title, its the same organisation though (ACES) that awarded Valencia. Thanks for clarifying Zuroph

What does this mean?Isnt this like a huge award?Surely it should have been hyped up before the year started?

The music in this video isn't suitable. When I hear this music and close my eyes, the closest thing I can see to sport is a black and white recording of a load of young lads chasing after a pig that escaped from his pen, "t'is a loada begorrah!"

There was a fireworks display back in October to mark the city being chosen as the city of sport 2011.
