Hard to see Will Smith as one of the best of all time,he has some decent roles,we will have to see how his carrer pans out.If you like Ryan Gosling check out 'Lars and the Real Girl', and 'The Avatior' for leo,one of his best.

Shia Leboef should be no where near this list,I actually like the actor but I dont think he qualifes.

Number 23 was pure sh!te imo and 'The Cable Guy' is a very underated movie!

Clint, no need to say any more legend.

Jerry Lewis - comic genius. Did what Jim Carrey does but forty years earlier.

I really like Denzel Washington. Very watchable and I don't get the feeling that he is doing it just for the huge paychecks, comes across very intelligent as well. He makes you forget you are watching a film sometimes and really care about the character, even if he is flawed. I hope to see more diverse roles for him in the future.

My favourites would be 'Malcom X' , 'American Gangster' , 'Training Day' and 'The Book of Eli'.

Not sure if he's the greatest but George Clooney deserves a mention. He has been in some great films Up in the air, Michael Clayton, Syriana

I think Robert Downey Jr is right up there with the best. His volume of work speaks for itself. From real life biopics 'Charlie Chaplan' to different races ' tropic thunder' hes done it all and never disappoints.

Daniel Day Lewis and DiCaprio would be the 2 for me.

Day Lewis' performance in "There will be Blood" has to be the best performance I have ever seen.

Gary Oldman in "Leon" is another fantastic performance.

In my opinion I find Brad Pitt very good. He can do the serious roles, Fight Club, but he can also do "comedic" roles such as Burn After Reading.

The best from my generation would have to be Leo Di Caprio, although his performances in Shutter Island and Inception were very similar.

Daniel Day Lewis for me. He can inhabit any role and make it his own...every performance of his is stunning. I also like that he is so selective in what he chooses to do. It seems to be good material, not big bucks, that influence his choices.

Sean Penn, for many of the same reasons, has to be mentioned too. He genuinely seems to love the art of acting and can always be relied upon to choose intelligent and thought provoking subject matter. he can be very intense - and I love that!

Di Caprio is a wonderful actor, but I would love to see him choose less big budget vehicles now and then. He was brilliant in 'Revolutionary Road' for instance and sometimes I think the roles in bigger films can sometimes make him seem a bit pedestrian, although I do agree with someone else who mentioned his brilliant turn in 'The Aviator'.....how he managed to walk away without the Oscar for that role (while Cate Blanchett nabbed one for the same movie) is beyond me.
