There is no disk, or need for a disk, to install UPC broadband.

In fact if you need an install disk, it's not Broadband. All real Broadband products are delivered via Ethernet Port and optionally WiFi.

Some very old cable modems or other modems might have USB only. XP will even manage some of those without a disk. Not seen such on UPC, Virgin Media supplied some and freely replace with Ethernet versions. Also the now defunct non-Broadband "ripwave" did have USB only modems, but IBB always swapped them for free with ethernet versions if asked.

Some modems have USB and RJ45 ethernet. ONLY use the ethernet port, which does not need a driver and works better.

Actually there is an Installation CD but you shouldn't need it as your modem is probably already setup. http://www.upc.ie/customer_support/manuals/

When you've finished reinstalling XP, connect the PC to the modem with an Ethernet cable, start Internet Explorer and go to http://192.168.1.1

You'll need to connect with a cable in order to get the Wi-Fi password, it won't show it to you if you connect via Wi-Fi. If you have the password written down then you can just setup the wireless connection on the PC and away you go.

Even if the Modem isn't set-up you don't need the CD
also many modems are just modems and doen't have routers or WiFi.
If it's only a Modem then 192.168.1.1 will not connect, but 192.168.100.1 will show cable status.

I'm assuming this is the EPC2203 modem. All the CD contains is the drivers for USB. If you are using an Ethernet connection, you do not need the CD.

However, if you do need the USB drivers, heres a link:
