Never ceases to amaze me how poorly Celtic still cope with the long ball out to Miller. It's a Rangers trademark at this stage, can Lenny not get the defenders on to it? Watch how Rangers have a player on top of Samaras when a long ball is punted to him.

Forrest should of done much better there.

  • Moderators, Technology & Internet Moderators, Regional North East Moderators Posts: 10,871 Mod ✭✭✭✭PauloMN

Bit better now from Celtic. Young Forrest getting into good positions.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,056 ✭✭✭applehunter

    Forrest started very well.

Too much long ball from defence. Ledley needs to show for it more.

    Heat picking up now.

Missed the start, great to hear that.

Joe Ledley a total passenger again.

    Kayal has been immense.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,415 ✭✭✭Lord Trollington

Poor half of football. Paddy McCourt and Wilson have been very poor.
Only Celtic player putting himself about is kayal , the rest don't look interested.

Samaras is probably the most frustrating player to watch, surely murphy or stokes would offer more up front?!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,056 ✭✭✭applehunter

McCourt has done alright. Wouldn't say poor.

Trouble is that he has to pick the ball up at the half way line or else the ball is going long(Wilson guilty of this on more than 1 occasion)

I'd bring on Juarez for Ledley and Murphy/Stokes for Samaras.

Stokes yeah, Murphy no. Stokes didn't handle the last game very well, maybe Lenny will put him on 2nd half.

Kayal, Forrest and Izzy have been great. Wilson has done alright I reckon, wouldn't have described him as poor today. Need some McCourt magic alright though.

Great chance, bit awkward in the end, here's hoping for a few more chances at least.

Close by McCourt. More of that please.

Very silly by McGregor, nice finish, hopefully this will liven it up now.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,415 ✭✭✭Lord Trollington

Great finish. Very well taken. Only thing is now you will see Celtic attempt to shut up shop for 30 odd minutes.

Don't think there will be any Celtic were the better team and the penalty was stone wall

Did not expect that win at all. Had resigned it to being a draw at best.

Brilliant from Samaras, Forrest, Kayal and Izzy today.

Shakey first half, looked like we were in for the usual fare from Celtic, much more belief in the 2nd half and the players began to threaten.

In fairness, first goal was largely a very poor decision from McGregor, but well taken nonetheless from Samaras. I thought he was brilliant to win the penalty for the second.

Fans were excellent today, would not have known the game was in Ibrox tbh.

    Title race back on. :)

Better team won on the day, no complaints from me.

Bougherra remaining on the pitch was controversial in my eyes.

Kayal could also have been in trouble for an off the ball body check.

    An important win for Lenny.

Was surprised when Sammy was picked ahead of Stokes but he did a great job. Ledley was yet again, awful.

A great 2nd half, reminded me of Keegan

'I'd Love it if we Beat Them, Just Love it!'... we did :)

Bougherra is one silly player as there were 4 Rangers players around Samaras, Thomson could easily have booked him (should have?) for that foul as well!

Edit: Can someone change the thread title to Rangers v Celtic or even Glasgow Derby instead of 'Old Firm'
