Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Printer Memory Card Slot slowing PC down?

    Hi,
I've a Canon MP620 Wireless printer and I'm not sure, but I think that since setting it up to use the flash slot on the printer itself, that the pc has slowed down slightly when opening my computer, booting up etc. See I had the printer installed and it was printing fine over the network but didn't have the slot networked and it was fine, then I forget why, but I had to reinstall the printer and this time, installed the flash slot with it and I think it's been a bit slow since.

The slot shows up as "canon_memory on 'Ec5XXaXXXX' (Z)" in my computer and when I boot up the computer, a little task bar notification usually says it's disconnected or something, I never actually use this slot so would like to just get rid of it but I'm not sure how.

If anyone has any idea what I can do to remove this, without having to reinstall the printer again as it's a bit tricky to set up with wireless printing etc, I'd really appreciate it :)

It sounds like its a mapped network drive.

Click start, right click "my computer" and click "disconnect network drives". You can remove it from there.

Thanks for that :) actually last night I tried to click "disconnect" after right clicking the drive itself from within my computer and it made it disappear and it hasn't come back after a reboot and the pc seems slightly faster so that should be grand I think :) probably the same result as right clicking my computer from within the start menu anyway!
