Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Really like this but I think a lot of its potential is lost in colour. I did a quick edit to B&W from the jpeg you posted (hope you don't mind) and basically did some quick selective dodging and burning to further isolate the homeless guy. Obviously you can do better with the original file.

Cheers Pete! Really undecided about this one. The original is much clearer, as I introduced a lot of noise burning and sharpening so I might try the B&W like you said and up it again.

I just saw it and I thought it had way more going for it. Obviously you can dodge/burn better with the original. I found the colour a little distracting from the homeless guy, and the surrounding scene a bit too bright that you aren't instantly directed to the guy on the ground. My quick attempt was to try to isolate the guy, keep the overview of the scene but make the eye constantly want to look for the homeless guy and search outwards form him in the image but always be drawn back.

    Had another quick bash:

It's a pity the original shots weren't sharp, I was rushing across the square and didn't have time to take them properly.

Being completely honest, Promac, B&W takes a lot away from your original, I commented on what i thought ot if on pix. The mono doesn't do it justice whatsoever IMO. I didn't think this was a C&C thread either!

Have to agree with Cagey (at least I think I'm agreeing with him?).

I much prefer the red version of the image. I think the red on the building, and the reflections of the red on the wet ground, and the red blanket of the homeless guy, all work really well together to make the image pop a bit more.

Everyone's opinion differs, though, of course.

(also, to disagree with Cagey, I like the small bouts of discussion/C+C that crop up in this thread from time to time. So long as the images keep on coming!)

Hey, not up to me, we're always told not to ramble discussions on in this one, just keep it to images ;) And unless it's asked for specifically, I don't think anyone should just 'have a go' at someone else's image, being honest.
