Am thinking of heading to either Australia or New Zealand, was thinking of applying for a regional visa in Australia, am thinking Western Australia as it appears to be the place to go if you are an Engineer. Have heard it could take 8 to 12 months to process such a visa, can anyone give advice regarding the time taken to get such a visa. Am in my late thirties so it's the only option open to me. Whats the situation in New Zealand, does it take as long to secure a visa? Any advice or opinions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Really for Specific advice speak to a MARA agent.

but as a rough guide 8-12 months would be best case scenario for the visa itself, for a regional visa you need to be state sponsored and that could take up to 6 months before you could even apply for the above visa.
