Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Hey all, I got rid of sky a few months ago and whilst I don't miss the sky pack I'm missing the recording option.

So I'm thinking of getting a freesat + hd box just wondering can someone tell me if any of these boxes come with an rf out and the 9v supply in order to power up my magic eyes.

    Cheers Bryan

Nope. I don't think any official Freesat boxes have RF modulator, let alone the 9V thing which seems exclusive to Sky hardware (patent?).

AV Wireless sender maybe? Noticed them in Lidl recently, about 40eur IIRC. Though that only usefull for one extra TV.

Otherwise, an external RF modulator and one of those 9v+IR injectors for use with the Sky eyes. I think Triax or SLx make them.

Edit, this is the injector thing I was referring to.

Thanks for the information, I think I'll stick with the sky box as I have it split to all rooms with magic eyes, such a shame no one has cracked how to record on sky boxes without a sub.

Use the Sky box on one of the other TVs

You can use an old VHS as a Modulator or buy a SCART modulator for the Humax and use the Triax adaptor, but a Basic Satbox is same price as Modulator in Maplin!

    This might help

Not 100% sure if it will, but the specs would lead you to believe that it will control any STB.

I think that is same adaptor Byte suggested.

Hmm, that seems to be both modulator and 9v injector for "magic eyes" that I thought I was told about alright, but didn't find them online, so wasn't sure then.

The Global one I linked to is only part of the solution, it being the RF 9v part. It still needed modulator.

But that Triax thing does it all. Not bad. At least now I know they DO exist! :)

Cheers looks like the right job.

Most cheap RF modulators produce a lot of interference. This one says it's better:

All RF modulators also "use up" the next lower channel too.
