Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi
I'm 22 years old and have been studying to be an accounting technician since September and have a few questions regarding my back to education allowance.Firstly it's a two year long course but i think we get cut off the btea for the summer months??? If so since i'm 22 will i go onto a lower rate of payment! I cannot get a straight answer from my local social welfare office. I was on the higher rateie (€196) before i went on the back to education so will i just have to make a repeat claim?? Also i read on the social welfare site that in some cases you can keep your btea for the summer months in "some" cases if your doing work experience! We need 2 years work experience to fully qualify as an accounting technician and i'm wondering if i could keep my btea for 3 months in the summer as i think it would be alot easier to get work experience if the employer didn't have to pay me!!! any help will be greatfully received!!!

You'll get the higher rate as it is a current claim.
For Btea during the summer, you must get a letter from the college to state that it is an integral part of your course and that you are a full-time registered student in the period of you work experience. It is up to the deciding officer who deals with the Btea in your local office.
