Hey so this is another noob question.

I recorded a game with my dazzle and it records as a .vob filetype. I put it in sony vegas edit a little and render it. It rendered as a .avi filetype.

My question is, is the .avi filetype best to use when uploading the video to youtube?

The .vob file was 300mb but the avi file was 750mb.

The video lenght is about 7 minutes is a 100mb per minute usual?

    Thanks

No, render it as WMV (Windows Media Video)

480p would be the best setting you can get out of the Dazzle, but try rendering 720p to see if it's any better

Cool when im recording in HD should i use .wmv and should I still use 720p?

Plus one more question when using the Hauppage HD PVR. Is the Ps3 to component or a HDMI to Component cable better to use?

    Component to component is better

    To connect to the ps3?

    To connect to the ps3?
    Thats not component to component.

It's component to PS3, you can get them anywhere.

I got mine in tesco, it's official Sony, but cost €25

Hey tallon. When recording to your pc. Do you use the hauppage software or record through Vegas?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 22,565 ✭✭✭✭Tallon

    The hauppauge software

    Cool. Thanks.

On playback of the raw format should the video be jumpy?

If your PC can't handle it, then yes

Would that effect the finished video after editing? Will the playback of the video when uploaded to you tube be the same.

No, your PC just can't decode it quick enough for you to view it.

Great I was worrying a little there. Thanks
