Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    I used to listen to this each year when I was a teenager (in the late 1980s & early 1990s)......it was, or seemed to me, to be a reasonably big event then; something worth listening in to. This list was supposedly based on thousaaands of votes that were coming to Dave from his listeners. At that point, Bad been number one for umpteen years, except for one year when How Soon Is Now crept in ahead of it. I've half listened to it a few times since then. I caught the end of the 2010 edition just there before Christmas. Once again, DF was saying that he'd had a big heap of votes coming in......I couldn't help thinking he was making the whole thing up, that is the bit about the huge amounts of entries......(now don't get me wrong, I'm not crying into my soup about it)....but just wondering....does anyone else listen to that show, or even shock horror, send in their favourite songs.

    He would have had a big enough following back then. I remember a cousin of mine was in a band and Dave played his music on one occasion. Everyone was talking about it - Dave Fanning was a big deal!

    I'd assume his 50 is complied by himself these days alright. Does he still give away the 50 albums featured in it? I'm almost sure he used to offer that prize back in the day?

    I'd presume it would be by public vote on the website, no? If it was easier to vote than posting in, I would imagine even more votes than in its heyday...

    I think they even stopped the compilation albums now, which is a shame, I have the three of them, but haven't seen them in a couple of years.

    I didn't even hear ads for the Fab 50 this year. Time was you couldn't turn on the radio without hearing it. Mind you, I didn't turn on the radio much over Christmas!

    Because i wanted a break. I listen to a good bit of radio and just wanted to spend the time with my family. I heard the local radio station as it was being played in the kitchen but that's it.
