    What happened to debbie gibson?

Well that was a comfortable enough first half. Time to turn the screw in the second half.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 9,608 ✭✭✭Spud83

I think comfortable would describe that fairly well, but we need a second goal.

Imagine they will be sent out in the second half, with the idea to start at a high tempo and get the job finished.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 6,543 ✭✭✭JerryHandbag

Good half, would like that 2nd goal soon enough though.

Lovin the French commentary, Berbateuf....Le Petit Pois.

so far very comfortable ,would like to see another one early in the 2nd half ,can't be letting stoke edge back into it.

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 18,443 Mod ✭✭✭✭DM_7

Are there no stoke fans on this thread then?

assured is the word I'd use for that performance, need to push for a second, just in case.

they need to wipe down their posts with a towel and take several steps back before unleashing them at us.

Uh, could've picked a better band to take surely, I'm more of a Philip Glass man myself...

I see Kenwyne Jones hasn't changed from his time at Sunderland and is still refusing to jump.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 627 ✭✭✭blueshed

quite happy with that so far, should have had one before chico scored.
will settle for 1.0 in every game from now to end of season.

Smalling is looking like a brilliant buy. Fast. strong in the air and good control. He impresses in every game

Sorry, I'm still not convinced about Smalling - The bigger the club he faces, the heavier his underpants get.

Stoke could easily have had Kelly Jones rather than Kenwyne up front and have had the same effect.

(please dont come back to haunt me)

agreed - very impressed with him every time he has played for United. Whihc is a great relief as I thought he looked very poor for Fulham in the games I watched after we signed him.

As you say fast, strong, good in the air and on the ball. Has looked a danger in the opposition penalty area this season for us too - i reckon he'll be good for a few goals every season, which is always great to have in a CB.

Just saw the goal! Great finish! Don't like calling Hernandez an impact player because hes a player who will get you goals whether he starts or comes on from the bench.

I think once United get used to his movement and vice versa he will be even deadlier goalscorer!

he is 21 you are not supposed to be convinced, you supposed be impressed at the rather assured performances he has put in this season when he has been asked to step in.

Hernandez really has a knack for scoring unusual goals.

On this form, Hernandez has to start every game. The only question though is who do you drop?

That would be Rooney - Ye couldn't though, could ya?

Smalling has been poor in as many games as he has been good. Jury most definitely still out on him.

on current form... Rooney. Though Rooney was voted mufc man of the match by Boards.ie users for the last game.... (will confirm all that a little later)

I like the potential of a Berbatov/Chico partnership. Think berbatov's vision and creativity would release Chico to score a lot, while Chico's running and 'on the shoulder' play would allow Berbatov a freer role.

Oh god I'm not going to get into this argument. Comparing a striker and defender is crazy. Comparing them after 5 months is crazy. Comparing the both of them with totally different back grounds is crazy.

Comparing them based on age is just plain retarded.

Also yes some players make it earlier than others, however most take time to develop. Chico still has a long way to go too IMO.

    Absolutely disagree with that. Completely.

I actually can't think of a game off hand that he has been poor in himself. West Ham arguably, but I would blame his CB partner Evans.

I certainly can pick out more games he has impressed in than he could be considered poor in.
