Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I am in the process of getting one of these squared away from the uk - so that I can pick up the FTV channels. The guy has to come back and confirm what 'free' channels it will clear. Just wanted to doublecheck here....

    If its an activated card, would I be right in thinking it should clear the following;

Sky3, ITV2/3/4 in HD, C4 in HD, Five in HD, Fiver & Five US

Would appreciate it if anyone knows and can share the knowledge.

Not 100% sure, but can't see you getting HD channels for free.

    ????

Sky3, Sky3+1, Five (I find the encrpted has version better PQ) , Fiver, Fiver+1 , Five USA, Five USA+1 , Five HD , C4HD, LiverpoolFC TV, and VIVA.

ITV2/3/4 in HD are subscription channels like E4HD

Buy one yourself it would be cheaper - http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2055800625

C4 HD will be FTA soon
Five HD likely FTA within 1 year
Fiver & Five US may close

ITV2/3/4 in HD unlikely to remain FTV if they are, either FTA or Subscription.

Sky3 is the only long term definate content.

    It doesn't let you record.

Looks like another plan scuppered. :(

One final question...I don't suppose theres any difference between a freesatfromsky card and a card from an expired hd sub?

(unlikely I guess - but just want to make 110% sure)

From what I recall Irish ex-subs are killed by SKY, ex-UK subs will add no extra channels and can be completely killed by SKY at any time.

Not the ITV's unfortunatly, but also VIVA in addition.

Sky3 is being replaced by Sky Living isn't it?
Might not be available FTV after that when it has more premium content.

I'm not sure if that has been confirmed. As far as I know, the exact plans are yet to be announced.

Sky 2 and Sky 3 will lose their EPG slots. I'm not sure if they are closing for good though.

Well it's available right now along with it's +1

Its not listed on their list of channels on Skys own website - perhaps its going?

Maybe it will be moving/closing as the other posters have suggested but it's still advertised as part of the FTV card line up :-

Freesat from Sky gives you access to a great choice of over 240 quality digital TV channels, including terrestrial channels like BBC1, ITV and More4 and Sky3 – that’s four times more than Freeview TV. And with channels ranging from entertainment to sport and music, including shows like Cold Case and Shear Genius, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

Yeah I actually provided that link earlier in this thread, but if you scan all the channels there is no sign of Sky3 on it.

    Anyway.

But only about 0.018 times more than Freesat/FTA

    Misleading advertising or what?

Plus most people would probably only be interested in 1% of the 4x extra channels !!

They don't tell you that of the 240 channels, a lot are radio, and of the TV ones, most are dung.

Sky 3 is to rebrand as "Pick TV" at the end of Feb (will be on channels 152 and 153).
