Just wondering what timber chippies use for the making of an exterior door say 1 metre wide for a garage shed. Now im not talking anything that fancy timber that'l cost under 80 quid or maybe a bit less. Have made these doors before but they have swelled etc thankks in advance for replies

I usually use TGV door boards, nice finish for shed doors, and coat liberally with wood preservative, and they'll last a long time..

You can use something like 4"X1.5" planed for ledgers..

coat the boards before you assemble, that way you get into the groove, and lessen the chances of it swelling. And making sure to let the end grain soak the preservative well in too...
