Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Assignment 51: The young & The Old

    Hi guys,

I am new to this but I don't think this has been done before. This assignment asks you to document/capture something that embraces the title "The young & the Old".

Both elements of the theme should be evident in the picture. This can be a couple of generations of a family in portrait, a big old tree beside a younger tree, an old building beside a new structure or just your dog with their pups.

I think that there is huge scope within the assignment and I hope you find it challenging enough.

    The rules:
-Photos must be posted within 2 weeks of the day the task was set– so the closing time/date is 17.30 on the 19th of January 2011.
-No old photos. Only photos taken with this task in mind qualify.
-Therefore, the photo must be taken after 17.30 on the 5th January 2011.
-Photos must be on the given task.
-ONE photo per post. But submit as many posts as you like.
-Stretch yourself – there is no limitation to what you can do to produce the image.
-The next task/subject is to be chosen by the person who has the most thanks after their post at the closing date/time (the post must include a photo).

young and old by loggedon, on Flickr This could be borderline my very old Baby shoes ? (clearly the height of fashion)

I'm afraid but the rules say ''Both elements of the theme should be evident in the picture.''
Maybe you can have your current shoes in the picture too?

I think he chose them shoes because they look like young people's shoes but they're old .i.e young and old

Yeah that was the idea behind the photo, and thanks for your post and to the people who thanked it

but i have withdrawn the photo with fairness in mind and will replace it with another with two objects with the topic more obvious don't wish anyone to feel i didn't keep to the task (everyone else has two objects in there photo i think that's what the person is trying to say)

    again

    BIG THANKS

Dam and blast! I thought I had a picture that would suit the title. Then I read a little further ........
-No old photos. Only photos taken with this task in mind qualify.
-Therefore, the photo must be taken after 17.30 on the 5th January 2011.

So, this picture is blown out of the water. No hope of getting to Edinburgh before the closing date. :(
I'm going to scan Dundalk, there has to be something old & new together.

@Garden snapper & Mods I know the pic doesn't qualify. I hope you don't mind the post. Delete at will.
