Laptop wont start up

    When i turn it on it just says 'other user' rather than my login name and when i click other user it asks for a user name and password but when i type in my username and password it gives an error and says 'the specified domain either does not exist or could not be contacted' Hope somebody out there can help

    Is this a work PC or a home PC? It's not connected to a network with a server that you log into when logging into your computer, is it?

    Also which OS are you are you using? Windows 7, Vista or XP, perchance?

    It's just a home laptop but I've never had any home networks or anything that's what's confusing me
