Can anyone recommend a good safety latch for press doors?

The kitchen got covered in Cheerios yesterday! Cute but messy.

because i can't open my sisters cupboards with the usual locks but her 2 yr old can.

My little fella broke 4 safety latches yesterday evening after i spent an hour and a half fitting the whole kitchen and making it safe.
The mrs had more trouble opening the press than the small fella did

We have these but two of our presses are single ones with a door opening the same way next to them so can't get them working. Grand on the facing double doors though.

The magnetic one looks good but I'd probably lose the key!

Tesco's have a reasonably priced set that has served us well, a decent supply of bits too.

My DP's cousin has those magnetic ones and she keeps the key on on of the high up door handles (she has like metal bar handles)

Think I'll be investing in those myself!

Definitely agree with you on the magnetic suggestion - they were actually installed in our house when we bought it. Was pregnant at the time so we disabled them (very easily done, simply flick of a tab on the lock) until our little menace started exploring.

We find them great and don't worry, if you do lock the key into a press or loose it, you can use any other strong magnet to open them.

One of the unsung benefits of these is that the door doesn't open at all until you want it to. We were in a friend's house the other day and my son got his fingers caught in their press door as they had the traditional locks which allow the door to open enough to get your own fingers in...if mine can fit in, my sons definitely can!!

As a previous posted mentioned, we keep ours stuck to a press handle when we're not using it!
